Registration
All Family Social Science graduate students are required to register each fall and spring term until they graduate to maintain active status.
Enrollment for a minimum of six credits is required to be considered full-time and eligible for an assistantship appointment in FSoS.
International students must maintain an enrollment of six credits or full-time equivalent status each semester throughout their program to maintain their visa status.
Active status allows you to hold assistantships, complete coursework and program milestones, conduct research, apply for FSoS awards, and file for graduation.
Failure to maintain active status will discontinue your student status (you will be considered inactive, and you will need to reapply and be readmitted to the program before you can resume your studies).
There may be a time when you need to register in a special registration category that solely meets your registration requirements and avoids inactive status.
Read about maintaining active status and special registration options on the One Stop Student Services Webpage,
Discuss a plan with your advisor and the Director of Graduate Studies, and
