All courses for minors must be taken A-F and completed with a GPA of at least 3.00.

MA minor in Family Social Science

Complete 6-7 credits from the following:

• FSOS 8001 - Conceptual Frameworks in the Family (3 credits)

• FSOS 8101 - Family Stress, Coping, and Adaptation (3 credits)

  • or FSOS 8013 - Qualitative Family Research Methods (3 credits)

  • or FSOS 5014/15 - Quantitative Family Research Methods I (4 credits + lab)

  • or FSOS 8014 - Quantitative Family Research Methods II (3 credits)

PhD minor in Family Social Science

Complete 12 credits of 8xxx courses in Family Social Science including:

• FSOS 8001 - Conceptual Frameworks in the Family (3 credits)

• FSOS 8101 - Family Stress, Coping, and Adaptation (3 credits)

• FSOS Research Methods course (one of the following):

  • FSOS 8013 - Qualitative Family Research Methods (3 credits)

  • FSOS 5014/15 - Quantitative Family Research Methods I and Lab (4 credits)

  • FSOS 8014 - Quantitative Family Research Methods II (3 credits)

• FSOS Elective (3 credits)

PhD minor in Prevention Science

Students are required to submit the following:

• Prevention Science application form (PDF)

Complete the following 12 credits:

• PREV 8001/FSOS 5701 - Principles and Practices in Prevention Science (3 credits)

• PREV 8002/FSOS 5702 - Prevention Science Research Methodology (3 credits)

• PREV 8003/FSOS 5703 - New Topics in Prevention Science: Implementation and Dissemination (3 credits)

• 3 additional credits of elective courses from the student's area of concentration
